Diphile

Diphile , Greek comic poet, born with Sinope, contemporary of Ménandre, flowered towards 300 av. J. - C.

It had composed hundred Comédie S, of which it remains us only of short fragments, that one finds in the collections of G. Morel and of Grotius and in the Comicorum Meinecke split up, and who were translated in the literary Soirées of Coupé. Several were imitated by Plaute, in particular in the Casina and the Rudens , and by Terence in the Adelphes .
