Dipetalonema streptocerca

Dipetalonema streptocerca is a nonpathogenic human Filaire. She however plays a big role, the discovery of microfilaires wrongfully switches the diagnosis in the zones where they prevail at the same time as of telegraphic pathogenic.

Dipetalomena streptocerca exists in Africa, on the poutour of the gulf of Guinea. The adults are unknown at the man; the microfilaires measure 200 microns, can be collected by scrarifications in the dermic lymph, except with the front armlevers and the legs; they are transmitted by culicoïdes. Their particular morphology makes it possible not to confuse them with those of Onchocerca volvulus in the areas where they coexist.

The microfilaires of D. streptocerca are very sensitive to the treatment the Notézine.
