Diocese of Creteil

The Diocèse of Creteil is a particular Church of the Catholic church (according to the gun §368) covering the whole of the Département of the Valley-of-Marne, that is to say 245 km ². The episcopal see of the diocese created the October 9th 1966 by Paul VI is localized with Creteil.

The Cathédrale Notre-Dame of Creteil is an inaugurated new church the June 18th 1976 which becomes cathedral in 1987.

The diocese counts 19 parochial sectors gathering 83 permanent parishes, 119 priests diocesans, 32 deacons, 4 military chaplains, 13 permanent monks and nuns, and 60 laic operations managers. It counts also 744 monks gathered in 91 communities, including 18 communities provincial or general, 3 monasteries and 7 noviciates.

The catholic teaching of the diocese of Creteil represents 22.500 pupils in 39 establishments, of the nursery school to the college.

Suffragan with the Archdiocese of Paris, it belongs to the ecclesiastical Province of Paris, and is member of the conference of the dioceses of the Île-de-France.
