Diocese of Ciudad Real
The Diocèse of Ciudad Real is a Spanish Diocèse set up under this name the February 4th 1980 by the Pape Jean-Paul II, starting from the antique prélature created the November 18th 1875 by the Pope Leon XIII.
The territory of the diocese coincides exactly with that of the Province of Ciudad Real. It was created starting from territories dependant on the Archevêché of Tolède and the military Ordres of Calatrava, San Juan and Santiago. For this reason, the Bishop of Ciudad Real carries the title of Prieur of the Military Orders.
Until the creation of the title of Bishop of Ciudad Real in 1980, the holders of the diocese received the title d'" Bishop of Dora".
