Dio

Dio is a group of Heavy traditional metal formed in October 1982 around the singer Ronnie James Dio (ex- Black Sabbath and Rainbow). In the beginning, the group included/understood Vivian Campbell with the guitar, Jimmy Bain with low and Vinny Appice with the battery.

Dio leaves its first album in May 1983: Holy Diver . Ronnie sings and to play of the keyboards on the album, but Claude Schnell joined the group for the concerts. The quintet publishes its second opus the July 2nd 1984 ( The Last in Line ) then its third the August 15th 1985 ( Sacred Heart ).

Vivian Campbell leaves the group in 1986 to join Whitesnake. It is replaced by Craig Goldy.

The fourth album leaves the July 21st 1987: Dream Evil . After this album, the group is completely altered with the introduction of the 16 year old guitarist Rowan Robertson. The new group publishes an album: Lock up the Wolves in 1990.

Ronnie James Dio joined Black Sabbath then, putting Dio in sleep. The group is of return in 1994 with Tracy G as guitarist. during this period, Dio signs several albums: Strange Highway in 1994, Angry Machines in 1996 then Inferno: Last in Live in 1998.

Craig Goldy joined Dio in 2000 for the eighth album studio of the group, Magica , but leaves the ship right before the exit of the following album Killing the Dragon in 2002. Doug Aldrich is thus the guitarist on Killing the Dragon . Craig Goldy returns within the group in 2003 for the album Master off the Moon , published the September 7th 2004.

Dio publishes an album live in 2005: Evil but Divine - Live In New York City . A new album is awaited for the summer 2006.
