Diméthyltryptamine

The diméthyltryptamine (NR, N-diméthyltryptamine) or DMT is a substance powerful Psychotrope (often synthetic but also in a natural way in several plants presents of which the Psychotria or Anadenanthera). He is regarded as a Stupéfiant in certain countries. Presenting itself pure in form Crystal line and generally smoked, it gets an effect quasi-immediate Hallucinogène and of short duration as well as a Expérience of imminent death in certain cases (in opposite direction, certain studies bind this experiment of imminent death to a possible production of diméthyltryptamine by the pineal Body). The dangers associated with the diméthyltryptamine are not known.

History

It was synthesized for the first time in 1931 by an English chemist Richard Manske who calls then it nigerine and it is in this form that it is consumed like Drogue in the Western countries.

Chemistry

The DMT is a derivative of the Tryptamine (compound Aromatique) in which the atoms of Hydrogène of the atom of Azote located at the end of the carbonaceous chain are replaced by groupings Méthyl E.
It has for semi-developed Formule C8H6N- (CH2) 2-N (CH3) 2.

Its chemical structure is close to the Psilocine.
