Dilophosaurus

The dilophosaure or Dilophosaurus was large a carnivorous Dinosaure alive in China and Arizona at the beginning of the Jurassic , between 205 and 185 million years before our era. It could measure up to two Mètre S fifty top, six meters length and to weigh 450 Kilogram S. the date of its discovery goes back to 1942. Its name means “Reptile with two peaks”. Its cranium was different from the carnivorous dinosaurs which followed, because it had articulations which enabled him to fold the nose and a pair of osseous peaks on the head (from where its name).

The peaks of the dilophosaure , probably very coloured, were used doubtless as visual accessories of parade.

It is one of the first large predatory dinosaurs having existed on Ground.
It had a slender and athletic body. Its mouth was particularly narrow and flexible, but its jaws were also planted long sharp teeth which it used to tear off the flesh of its victims in their inflicting severe wounds. This morphology “passes everywhere” made it possible the dilophosaure to drive out as many the imposing preys like the Plateosaurus that preys much smaller like small Mammifère S and Lézard S which it was going to seek in the undergrowth or the cracks of the rocks.

According to certain scientists, Dilophosaurus would have had a flange with the bright colors similar to that of the lizards with flange. This flange would be used to frighten a prey.

Contrary to the popular belief, there does not exist any proof that Dilophosaurus can spit a paralyzing venom, this is a fictitious element created by Michael Crichton for her novel Jurassic Parc, which was included shortly after in film of the same name. ----
