Dilbeek

Dilbeek is a common Dutch-speaking of Belgium located in Flemish Région in the Province of the Flemish Brabant.
It is in the district of Brussels-Hall-Vilvorde, more precisely in the Westrand , the west coast of the Périphérie of Brussels.
Dilbeek is resulting from the Fusion of communes in Belgium at January 1st 1977 of Dilbeek, Large-Bigard, Itterbeek, Schepdael, Bodeghem-Saint-Martin and Vault-Saint-Ulric. The common one counts 40.000 inhabitants for 4.117 ha. Even if Dilbeek is not recognized like a commune with linguistic facilities, the commune (which is frontier bilingual area of Brussels-capital) includes/understands a French-speaking minority from at least 12% of the population (represented by 4 seats out of 33 at the town council).
Dilbeek is primarily residential with the vast allotments of villas; Dilbeek is also, by its villages keeping a rural facet, zonings, modern companies in edge of the boxing ring, on the northern limit of Large-Bigard, confers an industrial aspect in addition to him.
