Digital Millennium Copyright Act

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act ( DMCA ) is an American law . The goal of this text is to provide a means of fight against the violations of the Royalty. It aims at establishing a legislation of the Intellectual property adapted to the digital age, Among the contained disposals in the text, it there with the possibility of explicitly prohibiting the skirting of technologies used to protect the documents fixed with the royalty. Thus the law prohibits the diversion of a protection against the copy but also, the distribution or the provision of processes which allow this diversion. One attends in particular the censure of results on Google (for example with regard to the requests relating to the software of Peer to peer Kazaa )

The law is discussed. Committees of opposition, judging the text liberticide, were formed claiming its pure and simple abandonment.

Its European equivalence is EUCD and the transcription in France is the law DADVSI, which was adopted in July 2006.
