Dig (river)
See also: Digs
The Creuse (in Occitan Cruesa ) is a river center of the France. It takes its source to 932 m of altitude on the Plateau of Millevaches, in the department to which it gave its name (the Creuse). It is thrown in the Vienna (affluent of left bank of the the Loire), with Nozzle-of-Two-Water (common of Port-of-Piles, Vienna, Ports and Nouâtre, Indre-et-Loire).

Hydrology
The flow of Hollow was observed over one 44 years period (1964-2007), with Leugny, locality of the department of the Vienna, located little upstream of the town of Descartes, therefore a little before the confluence with the Vienna. At this place the catchment area of the river is of 8 020 km ², on a total of 9 570, is 84% of its totality. The portion of the basin not - covered by the observations is made up above all of the under-basins of the Claise and Esves. The interannual medium flow or module of the river with Leugny is of 76,7 m ³ a second. Taking into account what precedes, the flow of Hollow with its outlet in Vienna is at least 86 m ³ a second.
The Hollow present one of the seasonal fluctuations of medium flow, with high waters of winter-spring carrying the average monthly flow on a level from 103 to 151 m ³ a second, from December to April included (maximum in February), and of low waters of summer from July to September, with a fall of the monthly medium flow up to the level of 20,6 m ³ in still appreciable level, August, it is true. But these monthly averages hide more important periodic oscillations.
The VCN3 can fall until 6,3 m ³, in the event of dry quinquennial period. Let us recall that the VCN3 is the past minimal quantity or minimal flow over three days consecutive.
As for the risings, they can be very important and devastators. The QIX 2 and QIX 5 are worth respectively 670 and 960 m ³. The QIX 10 or calculated flow of decennial rising is of 1 100 m ³ a second, the QIX 20 of 1 300 m ³ and the QIX 50 of 1 600 m ³. (see note).
The recorded maximum instantaneous flow was of 1 210 m ³ a second on March 6th, 2006, while the value maximum day laborer had been of 1 110 m ³ a second on February 16th, 1990. By comparing these data with the scale of the calculated QIX of the river, one notes that the rising of March 2006 did not have anything exceptional and has a probability of reproducing about all the fifteen or sixteen years.
As comparison, let us recall that the QIX 10 of the Marne at the entry of Paris is worth 510 m ³ a second, while its QIX 50 is of 650 m ³. One can thus notice that the QIX 10 like the QIX 50 of Hollow, river of less medium flow, is moreover of the double of those of the Marne, whereas the catchment area of the latter is definitely wider. The same comparison with the Seine in Alfortville gives us for the latter a QIX 10 of 1 200 m ³ a second and a QIX 50 of 1 600 m ³, are quasi equal values, but for a catchment area of the Seine of an almost quadruple extent (30 800 km ²) of that of Hollow (see the article concerning the Flow from the Seine in Paris).
The Lame of water past in the basin of Hollow is of 303 millimetres annually, which is a little less than the overall average of France all confused basins, thus besides that of the catchment area of the Vienna (319 millimetres). The specific Débit (or Qsp) is assembled at 9,6 liters a second and per square kilometer of basin.
