Diego Ortiz de Zúñiga
Diego Ortiz de Zúñiga , Spanish historian, was born at the beginning from the 17th century, Seville, (1636 - 1680), of one of most former and famous families of the Andalusia.
He was knight of the Ordre of Saint-Jacob, and filled of the functions of magistrature in his birthplace. Having the taste of the study, it devoted its life to the historical research, visited the Clerc's Offices and the files of the province, and a crowd drew some from invaluable documents. He died in 1680. Its work Anales eclesiásticos seculares… of Sevilla remains there one of works of reference for the history of the capital of the Indies as well on the aspects ecclesiastic as civil, obtained starting from old documents, of chronicles and historical works consulted by the author.

- Discurso genealogico of los ortizes of Sevilla , Cadiz, 1670, in-4. It is the genealogy of its family, established on authentic titles.
- Annales ecclesiasticos there seculares of the ciudad of Sevilla that contienen known principal farmhouses memorias desde el anno of 1246, in that fue conquistada LED poder of los Moros , hasta el of ibid, 1677, in-fol. Reed. and supplemented in 1795-1796 by D. Antonio María Espinosa there Carcel who extended the chronicle up to 1700. There is a facsimiled modern edition published in Seville in 1988.
