Diego Bernardès

Diego Bernardès , born towards 1540, died in 1596, Poet Portuguese.

He was embassy secretary to Madrid, followed the king Sebastien Ier of Portugal in Africa and was taken with the Bataille of Alcazar. He succeeded especially in the Idylle, and is looked like the Théocrite Portugal. He entitled the collection of his eclogue S Lyma of the name of a brook which he sang.
