Diederich Franz Leonhard von Schlechtendal
Diederich Franz Leonhard von Schlechtendal is a German Botaniste , born the November 27th 1794 with Xanthen and dead the October 12th 1866 with Halle.
He is professor of Botanique and director of the Botanical garden of the Université Martin-Luther of Market-Wittenberg of 1833 to his death. He is the editor association of the botanical newspaper Linnaea .
Its most important work is the description of the flora of the Mexico in collaboration with Adelbert von Chamisso (1781-1838), work based on specimens gathered by Christian Julius Wilhelm Schiede (1798-1836) and Ferdinand Deppe (1794-1861) between 1824 and 1829. It makes appear Flora Berolinensis (two volumes, 1823 - 1824) and collaborates in the Flora von Deutschland (twenty-four volumes, 840 with 1875).
