Die with twelve faces

A die with twelve faces (sometimes called D12) is an alternative of Dé comprising twelve faces. The form most usually used is that of a Dodécaèdre whose faces are pentagons, like the prismatic example on the right.

The dice with twelve faces are mainly used in the roleplays to obtain results different from those obtained with a “normal” die with six faces. They are relatively rare compared to the D10 and with the D20 which permit generation of more handy statistics.
