Die with four faces

A die with four faces is an alternative of Dé comprising four faces.

The dice with four faces are mainly used in the roleplays (where they are often indicated by “D4”) to obtain smaller results than with other types of Des.

A die with four faces with the form of a regular Tetrahedron, each face forming a equilateral Triangle. This type of die not rolling easily, it is simply thrown in the air. Contrary to the other dice, the result is not given by the higher face. A die with four faces has three numbers on each face; when the die rests on a plane surface after a jet, only one of the three numbers is vertical, the same one on the three visible faces, it is the result of the throw.

There exist two manners of placing the numbers on a face, without that having consequences:

  • along the Edge S, the result being given by the number located on the basis;
  • in each angle, the result being read at the top of the face.
