Didier Daeninckx

Didier Daeninckx , born in 1949 with Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis) is a writer French, author of Roman black, Nouvelle S and Essai S.

Resulting from a modest family, Didier Daeninckx takes the party resolutely to direct his work towards a social and political criticism through which it approaches certain files of the moment (the policy of the charters, the Révisionnisme, etc) and others of a sometimes forgotten past (the massacre of the Algérie NS the October 17th, 1961). This historical investigation the conduit sometimes to leave the police field for a social realism which the sobriety of its style underlines.

A committed author

At seventeen years he becomes workman printer, then cultural worker and finally local journalist. It is during one layoff that he writes a first novel which passes completely unperceived, Mort with the first turn (1982), where one sees appearing the character neurotic of the Cadin inspector. The second, Murder for memory (1984) which, well before the lawsuit Papon, place under fires of the slope the bloody drift of the demonstration FLN of October 17th, 1961, on the other hand is well accommodated. This work published in the Black series opens the doors of notoriety to him.

Follow the same year the unfinished Géant , always with Cadin, in which it attacks the corruption of the political circle, and the DER of DER , dedicated to his/her anarchistic grandfather and deserter in 1917, where it denounces the practice of “shot for the example”. In black Light (1987), where Cadin appears little, it takes for target the policy of renewal by charters of the Malians expelled out of the borders. Through its news ( In margin , Zapping ), it traces a soft-bitter chronicle of the contemporary world, “a glance of localier” more accustomed events which do not do the one of the newspapers, but fill the columns with various facts, when they do not pass completely unperceived ( Yvonne, the Madonna of the Plain ).

With the cat of Tigali (1988) it publishes its first book for youth, a history denouncing racism.

In death does not forget anybody (1989), regarded as his work more succeeded, it moves away from the detective novel and tells the tragic history of a resistant young person condemned for murder after the war. In 1990, Cadin is breathless and it commits suicide in the fatal Factor .

The price Paul Féval de Littérature popular is allotted to him in 1994 for the whole of its work. Its novels are translated today in a score of languages.

With Cannibal (1998), it awakes the memory of the “human zoos” of the III {{E}} République, by telling the history of the Kanaks exposed like animals in a zoo. He says to be himself interested in the New Caledonia to died of the independence leader Eloi Machoro. He reconsiders this topic with the Return of Ataï (2002) which evokes the claim of the people kanak to see returning to the country the head of the big boss Ataï.

Polemics

Convinced that “by forgetting the past, one condemns oneself it to revive”, Didier Daeninckx deals with the problem of the historical memory by denouncing with obstinacy what he regards as concerning Négationnisme. He continues this step out of his novels in particular within the framework of Amnistia.net, an Internet site “of information and investigations”, of which he is one of the principal organizers. He is thus in the center of a polemic in 1997 following the publication of the Goût of the truth which answers a work of Gilles Perrault, the Taste of the secrecy . Daeninckx reproaches in this text Gilles Perrault for having been parachutist in Algérie, before evolving to a political commitment of left. He shows Perrault to be handled by the DST and the integrist Moslems and is caught some with its sexuality, in connection with its autobiographical book the Taste of the secrecy .

The publication of this very hard lampoon originates in the support of Gilles Perrault for authors that Daeninckx considers as negationnists, such Serge Quadruppanni, Gilles Dauvé, which these authors deny. This polemic is also related to the litigations within association Ras the Face, to which Daeninckx belonged, that it left since, and whose Gilles Perrault was spokesperson.

Serge Quadruppani complains about the eagerness of Didier Daeninckx who shows it negationnism, as well as pressures which he would exert to prohibit to him any media platform and any festival (external cf bonds).

Patrick Besson, several times attacked by Daeninckx, devotes a lampoon, Didier to him denounces (editions Gerard de Villiers).

In June 2001, a conference in which took part Didier Daeninckx was stopped with virulence by a group of people militants gauchists and left, of which several writers (Gerard Delteil, Thierry Jonquet, Maurice Rajsfus, Jean-Pierre Bastid, etc). At the time of a festival of the black novel in Paris of other writers (Jean Bernard Pouy, Frederic H. Fajardie, Jean-Jacques Reboux, Daniel Prévost, etc) on the contrary expressed to him their personal solidarity on this occasion.

Following the incidents of the Bastille, Daeninckx showed Gerard Delteil to have cheated to obtain the price of the Quay of the Goldsmiths, 10 years before. Delteil engaged a lawsuit in slandering against Daeninckx which was condemned in first authority and call by the 17th Criminal Court of the Court of Paris.

In July 2001, the newspaper Politis , title on “the Daeninckx business” by showing the writer of Stalinist processes and denounces “is delirious it of a writer who organizes lawsuits from Moscow to Paris”, which was worth a right of reply published to him in October.

He sponsors the Salon of the popular book of expression and social criticism of Arras.

Guy Dardel devoted a book to Didier Daeninckx, the imaginary Martyr (2005), currently object of an legal action on behalf of the writer.
