The kind Dicksonia belongs to the family of the Dicksoniaceae . It is composed of approximately 25 species of ferns, persistent or semi-persistent.
The rhizomes are arborescent, sometimes climbing, and resemble trunks. Often squat, they are covered by fibrous roots and the base of the old sheets. They are crowned spread out, pennate or pennatifid slings coriaces. The spores are round.
In a wild state, Dicksonia push in the mountainous forests of the moderate and tropical areas of Southeast Asia, Australasia and South America.
