Biography

Career NBA

Interior of small size, Simpkins started in the Maryland with the Friendly High School , before joining NCAA and the Providence Friars. In 1994, it is drafté by bulldozers of Chicago as of the first turn (21e choice). It thus arrives in the frankness from the Illinois where competition at its station is hard between Luc Longley, Bill Wennington then Dennis Rodman. It thus has little time play at the time of its first professional seasons. It will thus register 513 points in 167 matches over 3 seasons with the bulldozers. It will gain titles NBA 1996 and 1997, although not being over the list of the active players at the time of the playoffs these two years. With the autumn 1997 it is exchanged with the Golden State Warriors to tell Scott Burrell.

But, when during the season Warriors do not want any more Simpkins, the bulldozers decide to give him one second chance. It is shown then more aggressive, and obtains its place in the team to dispute her first playoffs and thus to gain its third title NBA. After the lockout of the season 1998-1999, and the departures of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Refusals Rodman and Luc Longley, it obtains much more time of play, and integrates even sometimes the 5 major. It finishes the season with an average of 9,1 points and 6,8 rebounds by matches. The following year, he will play a record (personal) 1.651 minutes.

The globe trotter

In September 2000, bulldozers engage Brad Miller and of this fact do not renew the contract of Simpkins. It thus joined Greece, before returning in NBA for the season 2001-2002 with the Atlanta Hawks. It will dispute however one match with the frankness from Georgia, finishing the season between the Greece and CBA.

Since 2002 it signs with various clubs of the sphere, playing in Russia, Puerto Rico, Lithuania, Spain, Filipino and Lebanon. It joined then the Germany and GHP Bamberg. But that does not prevent it from having always contacts with NBA, since it is involved sometimes in the center of the bulldozers, the Berto Center . It carried out besides training camp with the bulldozers.
