A diazonium is a diazo compound .
The diazoniums are cations.
Synthesis
A salt of diazonium can be obtained by diazotization between Nitrite of sodium, Hydrochloric acid and, generally, Aniline or an acid-α-amino at a temperature close to 0°C. One thus obtains a salt of diazonium, Sodium chloride and Eau
The salt of Phenyldiazonium is often to use in the reactions of Copulation, proceeded making it possible to obtain dyes.
Physical property
A salt of diazonium is very unstable and is degraded easily with room temperature. Salt is hydrolized by the Eau to give a alcohol or a phenol.
