Diane de France , duchess of Angouleme, born with Paris on July 25th 1538, died in Paris on January 11th 1619.
Biography
It was natural girl Henri Dolphin (the future Henri II) and of Filippa Duci, a Piedmont ease. It was raised by favorite the Diane of Poitiers, which made say to some which it was her daughter and that of the king (dixit Brantome). It had a looked after education, spoke several languages (Spanish, Italian, Latin), played several instruments and danced “extremely well”.
Legitimated in 1548, titrated duchess of Châtellerault in 1563, Stamps in 1573 and Angouleme in 1582 it married on February 13rd 1553 with His Horace Farnèse, duke of Castro, small son of the pope Paul III (born in 1532), who died in the combat with the battle of Hesdin on July 18th 1553. The king the remarie on May 3rd 1557 with Villers-Cotterêts with François de Montmorency, (born on July 17th 1530 - deceased on May 6th 1579) wire of the Constable Anne de Montmorency. After the murder of Henri Ier de Guise (1588), it negotiated the reconciliation of Henri III his brother with Henri king de Navarre. It has a property with Civray de Touraine, the stronghold of the Small Field, and settles in Touraine in 1589. It buys to a great property close to Notre Dame the Rich person where it remains until in 1594 (thus avoiding Paris and power struggles between the League and Henri IV). In 1594, it leaves Touraine to settle with Vincennes.
She enjoys a great credit at Henri de Navarre, become king de France, and was in charge of the education of her son Louis XIII. In 1609, it is it which repatriates the remainders of Catherine de Médicis of Blois to St Denis near the king Henri II. To its death in 1619, its body is transported towards its tomb which is in Tiny Royale place. She died without descent, her children (his Anne daughter and its François son) born from its second marriage, having died young.
