Diane d\' Andoins

Diane d' Andouins , countess of Guiche, known as beautiful Corisande , born in 1554 with Hagetmau, died in 1620. She is known to have been royal MaƮtresse.

Presentation

Girl of Paul d' Andouins, it had married Philibert de Gramont, count de Guiche, governor of Bayonne (which died of a wound in 1580) and remained widowed at 26 years. Mother of Antoine II, duke of Gramont.

Henri IV, which was not whereas king de Navarre, became passionately in love about it. The countess paid it return and all its life remained to him devoted: during the wars of League, it sold for him its diamonds, engaged its goods, and went until him to send liftings of Gascons, whom it had enlisted with its expenses. Henri had written to him with his blood the promise to marry it, but it did not hold this promise.

She died forgotten in 1620.
