Diane Dufresne
Diane Dufresne (September 30th 1944 with Montreal -) is a Chanteuse, Québécois Comédienne and painter . Recognized for its eccentric costumes, she is regarded as one of the best Québécois singers.
Biography
Grand-daughter of Breton immigrants, girl of workman, Diane Dufresne must give up the school at 15 years following the death of her mother. Right before flying away for France, Diane Dufresne interpreted on a scene in Montreal of the texts of Aragon, Ferré, Brel. At 18 years, it is with Paris to study the song at Jean Lumière and the dramatic art at Francoise Rosay and in 1966-1968, it is committed in cabarets of the Bank-left where it sings Vigneault, Ferland, Léveillée. She also sings in reviews, film musics and for the radio, she makes even " jingles".
Its career really starts with the autumn 1972, with the exit of its first 33 turns Hold-toé Ben, I arrive! . In 1973, in the place of Arts of Montreal, it is the dedication and the other French-speaking countries will not be long in being also allured by this woman.
The lyric writer Luc Plamondon writes the words of his first outstanding songs, which are put in music by the type-setter François Cousineau, (who was the companion of Diane Dufresne in the Seventies), songs where the intensity concentrates, humor, the autodérision, a certain amount of provocation, a romanticism rock' roll jovial and amusing not deprived of violence that she interprets of her voice very identifiable soprano.
Then it is the triumph with the Elysium-Montmartre in 1977 and the Olympia the following year. To Quebec, it gives spectacles to topic like " the night with Fellini" , " the night in rose" where people come disguised according to the topic. So in France, Diane is a singer, in Quebec, it became an alive legend. In 1978-1979, it takes part in the musical comedy Starmania.
In the years 1984-1985, collaboration with its lyric writer Luc Plamondon finishes because she wants to turn to French poets like Michel Jonasz, Serge Gainsbourg, Jacques Higelin. Diane Dufresne then starts to spare her forces and it will give concerts only both to three years. For it, the mégaconcerts finish and, in the years 1990-98, it turns to other values with calmer songs, less rock'n'roll.
In 1998, it goes up on scene for its spectacle Réservé put in scene by her husband of then, Richard Langevin. The spectacle, semi-theater, semi-turn of song, are much more " sage" , one is far from his period rock'n'roll .
