Diagram
see also: Etymology of Diagram
A diagram is a simplified and structured visual representation concepts, ideas, constructions, relations, statistical data, anatomy etc employed in all the aspects of the human activities to visualize and clarify the matter. A diagram also makes it possible to describe phenomena, to highlight correlations in certain factors or to represent parts of a unit.
Mathematics
In Mathematical, a diagram is a diagram used to represent objects and being used as support of the reasoning.-
the Venn diagrams or diagrams of Euler, are used to represent whole like their elements. The elements appear in it like points or small crosses, surrounded by a closed curve which forms the unit. If the unit contains a too great number of elements, only the unit is represented by the interior part of the plan to the curve.
- the diagrams of Caroll are used to represent the units. A unit E is represented by the portion of the plan delimited by a square and a subset of E is represented by areas obtained by sharing this square using straight lines parallel at the sides of the square.
- Cartesian Diagram or Diagram of the relations. That is to say E and F two units and a relation of E towards F . The elements of E are represented by points on a line, and the elements of F are represented by points on a line perpendicular to the first. When an element X of E is related to an element there of F by the relation , a cross is marked at the point of X-coordinate X and ordinate there . These diagrams are used in particular to represent the functions graphically.
- the sagittal diagrams are used to represent the relations. We represent two units E and F by a Venn diagram. When an element of E is in relation to an element of F for a relation , we unite X with there by an arrow of origin X and goal there .
- the diagrams of Hasse are used to represent a finished Ensemble ordered.
Physics
- a Diagramme of Feynman makes it possible to visualize the interactions enter particles (example: a proton can form a neutron and a poin which will be réannihileront can afterwards).
- the diagrams of Bode and diagrams of Nyquist represent the frequential answer of a system and allow the study of the Stabilité of the last.
- Diagram of Fresnel
Data processing
In the field of the Data-processing Programming also, many diagrams are used, particularly in language UML.- See List of the diagrams of UML
Management of quality
The steps quality use many diagrams - to refer to the page Gestion of quality.- Diagram of causes and effects (Ishikawa),
- the Bar chart makes it possible to graphically represent the advance of a project.
