Diageo

Diageo (,) is the most important company world on the market of the alcohol S and Spiritueux. The group is resulting from fusion in 1997 of two British companies : GrandMet and Guinness PLC. Following this fusion the majority of the non-aligned subsidiary companies in the industry of the Alcoholic drink S were sold, in particular the chain of fast-food industry Burger King, the marks Géant Green and Old El Paso , as well as the ices Häagen-Dazs. All these activities came from GrandMet.

The group produces primarily the spiriteux ones, but also of the beer (Guinness)

History

At the time of fusion between GrandMet and Guinness, the group LVMH - inter alia financial arrangements proposed a fusion of the poles respective alcohols of each of the three companies. In that LVMH, which held 14% of the capital of its Guinness partner, wanted to preserve the control of its strategy in this sector. It should be noted that the pole champagne and alcohols of LVMH were held to 33% by Guinness.
