Di Cavalcanti

Emiliano Augusto Cavalcanti de Albuquerque E Mello , more known like Di Cavalcanti (born with Rio de Janeiro, the September 6th 1897 and deceased in Rio de Janeiro, the October 26th of 1976) was a painter, illustrator and Brazilian caricaturist.

Chronology

  • 1908 - Receives courses of painting of the artist-painter Gaspar Puga Garcia
  • 1914 - Publishes its first work as caricaturist in the Revue Fon-Fon.
  • 1916 - Participle of I Salão back Humoristas (Ier Living room of Humoristes). - Share for São Paulo.
  • 1917 - First exposure individual in the burreaux ones of the newspaper has Cigarra, in São Paulo.
  • 1919 - Illustrates the book Carnaval , of Manuel Bandeira.
  • 1921 - Illustrates Balada C Cárcere de Reading ( The Balad off Reading Jail ), of Oscar Wilde.
  • 1922 - Participle of the Semana de Arte Moderna (Week of Modern art), carrying out the cover of the catalog and exposes 11 works to it.
  • 1923 - Share in Europe, and resides at Paris as correspondent of the newspaper Correio da Manhã.
  • 1925 - Return to the Brazil, resident in Rio de Janeiro.
  • 1929 - Painted two frescos for the Teatro João Caetano, in Rio de Janeiro.
  • 1935 - Sets out again in Europe.
  • 1937 - Gold medal with the decoration of the Pavilhão of the Free-Brazilian Company, in the Technical Exposure of Art, with Paris.
  • 1940 - Re-entry in Brazil, resident with São Paulo.
  • 1941 - Illustrates the book Uma noite Na taverna/Macário , of Álvares de Azevedo.
  • 1947 - Exposes in the Galerie Domus, in Rio de Janeiro.
  • 1953 - Gains, with Alfredo Volpi, the price of mellior national painter in the IIème Bienal of São Paulo.
  • 1954 - Retrospective of its work to the Museum of Modern art of Rio de Janeiro
  • 1955 - Publishes Viagem of minha emptied , delivers memories.
  • 1956 - Receives the first price with the Exposition of Sacred art, in Italy.
  • 1960 - Receives the gold medal for its participation, with a room special in the IIème Bienal Interamericana, with the Mexico.
  • 1963 - special Honore with room in Biennial VIIème of São Paulo.
  • 1964 - Exposure commemorative of its 40 years of artist, with the Gallery Relevo, Rio de Janeiro. - Publishes the book Reminiscências líricas of um perfeito carioca .
  • 1971 - Retrospective of its work to the Museum of Modern art of São Paulo.
  • 1976 - Dies in its birthplace.
