City Hunter is a Manga of Tsukasa Hōjō whose original title is Shitîhantâ ( City Hunter ). It is published in French with the editions I read (thirty-six volumes on the whole against thirty-five only in Japanese). A republication of the manga produced by Generation Comics began in October 2005. This republication proposes some improvements and no-claims bonus: format increased compared to the original, certain chapters colors and the anecdotes on the birth of City Hunter. To note that this last edition is identical to a Japanese republication (to celebrate the 20 years of the series) and is more respectful basic work.
It was adapted in cartoon, and was diffused in France under the title Nicky Larson .
Summary of the history
Tokyo, the Years 1980/1990.Ryô Saeba ( Nicky Larson ) is a man of the shade, a cleaner. Spinning mills, bodyguard, sometimes murder, it accepts any work of the moment “ that the heart of the customer to vibrate mine ”, says he. Its partner Hideyuki Makimura ( Toni Marconi ), is a former police officer. One Makimura day is assassinated by the trust Union Teope. His/her sister, Kaori ( Laura Marconi ), decides to take the changing of her brother like partner. As of this moment, Ryô will endeavor not to kill more. Ryô is a person who hides her feelings. Its very heavy past is only vaguely evoked. It seems to play a game when it picks up the pretty girls. Thereafter, it is learned that Kaori and Ryô like but do not dare to acknowledge it, because Ryô can be allowed to fall in love with work only it makes and the medium in which it lives because like it says it so well " a woman can fall in love and to remain to it all his life, me I can the being only from time to time " (Love, Destiny and a Magnum 357)
New City Hunter would make its appearance under the name of Angel Heart, it would be only the continuation of Nicky Larson, In the history Kaori (Laura) would be killed by a truck while trying to save a young boy on a pedestrian passage, all its body would be irremediable… except its heart.
Later, a pretty young woman tries a suicide since a building. She impales herself on a stake of grid. Its heart is transpierced.
Well after, a heart is stolen during its transport for the young girl, this heart stolen is that of Kaori. This one had made a chart of donor to save Ryo if this one were made touch in the middle. To protect it.
After its suicide, Knell Heart, the young girl receives a coeur¨, that of Kaori Makimura.
One year later, Ryo, always ravaged and shot down always the return of Kaori waits in one way or another, even if he shouts the opposite.
Heart knell made of the kinds of crises in its coma, it refuses to leave the coma and fact of the rèves where it sees a man who takes it in his arms, it sees also memories which are not with it.
After a dream, Glass Heart awakes, while crying, it flees of the laboratory to the research of the man whom it sees… Ryo.
Angel Heart left to France in the form of books and animated accuellement is accuellement envisaged (see even already left) in Japan.
General screen of the intrigue
The history turns mainly around the relation Ryô - Kaori, and of the missions which Ryô achieves: in general to fly to the help of a beautiful young girl in difficulty. It has as a principle of not accepting the male customers, even if it does not have anything any more to eat. The only thing which justifies it is a beautiful woman, which of course exasperates Kaori. He will agree all the same, on rare occasions, to help of the men.
History
The manga City Hunter was created by Tsukasa Hôjô; he wrote 35 pounds of 1985 to 1992. City Hunter was also adapted in cartoon with 140 episodes until 1991. In 1989, City Hunter was adapted out of film City Hunter: Have to Shukumei No Magnum (has off Magnum Love' S Destination) .
