  • : The pirate Koxinga seizes the island of Taiwan (which is called at the time Formosa) after nine months of seat and the Dutchmen drive out some.

British Isles

  • Act off Uniformity : Re-establishment of the religious uniformity and purification of the clergy Anglican.
  • a Acte of Establishment confirms the property of the grounds in Ireland on their level of 1654.

  • Creation of the Royal Africa Company (joint stock company).

France

    • Business of the franknesses. The pope wants to remove the franknesses from the embassies in Rome to ensure without obstacle the work of combat against the banditism. The king of France sees an obstacle with his prestige there (see 1687).
  • September 18th: publication of a protectionist customs tariff.
  • October 27th: Purchase of Dunkirk and Mardyck for 400  000 £ with Charles II of England.
  • December 20th: judgment of Fouquet.
