Dettmar Cramer
Dettmar Cramer (born the April 4th 1925 with Dortmund) is a ex-player and ex-trainer of German Football .
Career
After a modest career of footballer, it is engaged by the German Fédération of football to become the assistant of Helmut Schön, the national sport selector, in 1964, with dimensions of Udo Lattek. Thanks to their work, the Germany is finalist of the world cup 1966. Until 1974, he remains trainer-assistant of the selection, gaining with the passage the world cup 1974.
The August 1974, at 49 years, it becomes national sport selector of the the United States, after having rejected many offers of clubs of Bundesliga. But as of on January 16th, 1975, it does not resist the sirens of the Bayern of Munich, and becomes the trainer of the team. It takes there the continuation of Udo Lattek, its former partner of selection. During this time, the American, dissatisfied federation not to be prevented, terminates its contract.
Under its direction, Bayern gains two cuts of Europe of the clubs champions in 1975 and 1976, by beating respectively Leeds and Saint-Etienne finally. It also gains a intercontinental Coupe in 1976. But in championship, the Borussia Mönchengladbach of Udo Lattek makes him shade. He does not manage to gain the title and is dismissed the December 1977.
He joined the Eintracht Frankfurt later eight days. The team finishes the season 8th, following what Cramer leaves the club.
In 1982, it makes its return, with the Bayer Leverkusen, then little known. After three seasons in the soft belly of the classification, it leaves Germany for the Japan, where it still exerts a few years before taking its retirement.
