Detective Comics
Detective Comics is a Comic S published by cd. Comics since 1937. It is one of the most known titles of the company (with Action Comics which considering being born Superman). In fact, “cd.” of the editor comes from initial from “Detective Comics”. They is also the comics with greatest longevity since it is always published in the the United States in 2005.
In the beginning the comics published various stories, mainly detectives (the most popular kind of the time). The first number comprised stories with the characters “Ching Lung” (malicious Eastern in the style Fu Manchu), Slam Bradley (created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster), and Speed Saunders, among others.
The glory of Detective Comics was ensured at the time of the beginnings on its pages of Batman (called “The first of all Beats-Man”) in the number #27 (the number of May 1939 , published in April 1939). He became the principal hero of the publication. Specimens in good state of this number reached the values of 80.000$ in 1992 and 300.000$ in 2003, according to Stephen Fishler.
The companion of Batman, Robin, made his beginnings in the number #38 (of April 1940 ). Its appearance (and increasing sales of the periodical) led quickly to the rise of the dressed up dispensers of justice and their young companions in the comics of this time.
In addition to the adventures of Batman, Detective Comics published also Martian Manhunter (appeared in a complementary history (back-up) of Detective Comics #225 in 1955). At the end of the years 1970s, he added derived series like Robin: the Teen Wonder , Batgirl (appeared in Detective Comics #359 in 1967), The Human Target and the anthologies Bruise Gotham City off (ordinary stories of inhabitants of Gotham City).
