Desvres
Desvres is a common French, located in the department of the Pas-de-Calais (62) and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.
Its inhabitants is called Desvrois.
Geography
The city is located in the middle of the Boulonnais.

This city is crossed by D341 still named " The Brunehaut" roadway; between Caraquet and Courteaux.
This city highest has the point of the Pas-de-Calais, the Mont Hulin, being part of the chain of mounts of the Cuesta boulonnaise .
History
Desvres holds its name of the term Celte “ devro ” which means Chêne. The strategic position of the city in the middle of the wooded hills of Bolted leads the Counts de Boulogne to set up a fortress there. The city will be however the object of many conflicts, and it is only starting from the XVIIe century that Desvres finds finally its rise with the trades of the Poterie.

The city built its fame on the production of Faïence and Porcelaine, present on the territory of the city since 1764.
Places and monuments
Since 1997, Desvres obtained the label “city and trades of art”, by proposing know-how as regards porcelain:
- the House of the Earthenware, drawn by the Architecte Bernard Klein shelters since 1991 a Musée and a residence of artist.
- a restoration of the frontages or monuments (church, War memorial the,…) earthenware was undertaken in all the city.
- third Sunday of July is from now on day of earthenware.
- a clock was set up on the Place Leon Blum within the framework of the festivities of the passage to the year 2000.
- the Mont Hulin, higher mount of the Pas-de-Calais.
- the Place Leon Blum where each Tuesday morning the market is held.
