Destructor of documents

A destroying of documents , still called chopper or chopper , or more marginally machine to destroy the documents , tearing machine , lacéreuse or electric basket , is an apparatus used in the offices to destroy, generally by reducing of small pieces, the documents Papier containing information that the user considers sensitive, in order to make their consultation impossible after they were thrown, and thus to preserve to them Confidentialité. Incidentally, the vat receiving the residues of the documents is often used as Waste basket.

It is necessary however to adopt an attitude of mistrust with respect to the confidentiality brought by this type of apparatuses. Indeed, according to the page layout of the original document, as well as width of the strips produced by the apparatus, it is often possible to reconstitute a document with a4 format manually in a few minutes. The apparatuses producing of the strips of 4 with 5mm constitute the heart of the market, and bring only one first level of confidentiality, based primarily on dissuasion. More the width of the strips is narrow and the page layout of the simple document, more difficult will be the reconstitution of the once shredded document. In any event, any document shredded in vertical strips is reconstituable; all is question of patience.

Such apparatuses are mainly used by the organizations Gouvernement ales and the Entreprise S, respectively to avoid the espionage and the industrial Espionnage, but the private individuals can also make use of it to protect to them Private life or to destroy the documents which could allow to usurp their identity with an aim of making Fraude S (raised banking containing numbers of account for example).
