Destroyer (comics)
The Destroyer (sometimes called the Destroying ) is super-unpleasant created by Marvel Comics. It appeared for the first time in Journey into Mystery #118 , in 1965.
Origin
The Destroyer is a magic armor created by Odin in its plan to counter a possible return of the Célestes. This armor functions only if it is fed by the vital force of a god or a man. Odin hid the armor in the middle of a mountain, while waiting to make use of it.
It was found and stolen by Loki which used it to face his/her half-brother Thor. Each time, Thor had its survival only through the trick.
Thor gave it to Galactus in exchange of the freedom of the Herald Firelord. The Devourer of World made use of it until Loki takes again to him by misleading it.
The day when the Celestial ones returned on Earth, Odin entered the armor and absorbed the vital force of Asgardiens, then reaching a size of more than 300m top. But even in the armor, Odin could not overcome the Celestial plain ones, which dissolved the armor (without being able to destroy it).
A few years later, Loki gives again form with the armor of the Destroyer to try to kill his/her half-brother again, but it failed.
The armor was overcome in a singular combat against Hulk.
Capacities
-
Of a weight of 382kg, the armor was worked in a metal unknown factor of an almost unequalled resistance (harder than the uru itself). That gives him an incalculable force.
- It can emit extreme flames, rays of energy, or force by the visor of its helmet.
- Its other capacities include the control of magnetism, the flight, the matter handling (transformation of the various states: gas, liquid, solid) and molecular disintegration.
