Dessel-Turnhout-Schoten channel
The channel Dessel-Turnhout-Schoten connects the Canal Bocholt-Herentals to the level of Dessel with the Canal Albert on the level of Schoten. Construction began in 1844. The section between Dessel and Turnhout was completed two years later. Work between Turnhout and Schoten began in 1854 to finish in 1875.

The difference in level between Dessel and Schoten is of 25,7 meters. It was thus necessary to build 10 locks throughout the way.-

- Schoten: Lock NR. 6 - (50 m X 7 m) - 2,46 m Height
- Schoten: Lock NR. 7 - (50 m X 7 m) - 2,48 m Height
- Schoten: Lock NR. 8 - (50 m X 7 m) - 2,35 m Height
- Schoten: Lock NR. 9 - (50 m X 7 m) - 2,41 m Height
- Schoten: Lock NR. 10 - (55 m X 7,5 m) - 4,60 m Height
The channel is cut out into three part thanks to the presence of two doors of Guard which prevents (after closing) part of the water of the channels from being evacuated in the event of rupture of dams.
