Despotiki

Despotiki or Despotiko is a small rock small island in the south of Antiparos in the archipelago of the Cyclades.

Despotiki is covered with tombs going back to the Civilization of Cyclades.

It is in the channel separating the two islands that Theodore Bent discovered prehistoric vestiges of a habitat, at the time of one of the first known underwater archaeological explorations (in fact, it looked the bottom of water through a magnifying glass at the bottom of a bucket, technique borrowed from the sponge fishermen). (Bent, " Researches among the Cyclades", Newspaper off Hellenic Studies , vol. V, 1885, p. 47).
