Deshin Shekpa

The 5th Karmapa, Deshin Shekpa (1384 - 1415)

5th Karmapa conferred on Ratnabhadra the extreme instruction on the ultimate direction of the lesson kagyupa. Thus, Ratnabhadra reached the complete realization, and became the following holder of the line.

5th Karmapa wrote a prophecy describing the difficulties which will occur at the time of 16th and 17th Karmapa S:

" In the line of Karmapas, 16th with the 17th reincarnation, Buddhist teaching in general and the line Karma Kamtsang in particular, will hibernate the such bees. The line of the emperor of China will see coming his end and its country will be dominated by most extremely. Since north until the east, Tibet will be invaded, encircled, such crimped diamond… What imports the error, that to which you will address yourself will be opposed to you. The good behavior will degenerate and the bad one will flower…

In the succession of Karmapas, towards the end of its 16th life and the beginning of following, that with the broken samaya will emerge the such LAMA named Na-tha, and will sit on the throne. By the capacities of its aspirations that no one cannot include/understand, Dharma of Karmapa will be almost destroyed. Then, that whose aspirations are former and positive, An emanation of Padmasambhava, will come from the west. The neck girds fur and the fast and furious spirit, Anger in the middle, it will proclaim the words of Dharma. This one, with the dye sheepskin and the protuberant eyes, The emanation will overcome which broke the samaya. It will protect Tibet for a time, and then Happiness will reign, like the joy of seeing rising the sun. Thus I see the future of the community Tibetan. Even if one comes, of which the former aspirations rise in karma positive, Because Dharma is on the decline and the bad intentions of will maras bore their fruits, Happiness will have evil to be born… "
