Desges
Desges is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Loire and the area Auvergne.
With the borders of the valley of Desges, very close to the plate of Margeride, between forests and moors with brooms, the borough of Desges marks the end of the influence of the man on the valley. So today, the forest production and agriculture are the main activities, during more than four centuries, the glass Masters exported their production on the regional markets. All the ingredients necessary to the manufacture of glass were gathered: quartz (crushed and melted at high temperature), the lead of the mine of Desges, the potash (residue of the carbonization of the ferns) and finally the water of the brooks actuating the mills.
