Derajah aka Jah Youth

Jah Youth, is a singer of Reggae, large Bobo Ashanti having grown in the ghetto of the district of Wellington, Kingston, JA., born on April 12th, 1981.

It belongs to the generation of the " ghetto yout'" , which makes use of the reggae in the hope to find a life better. Its first appearance is discrete on one 45 turns " Righteous has flow" , drawn to a few hundreds from specimens on the label Black Roots of Sugar Minott. Its second appearance is noticed, since it poses on the first In Yard of Makasound, devoted has Earl " Chinna" Smith, left in 2005, the piece is entitled " well ah oh".

Its goal is of " to sing to gather people, and to leave lion the devil, of the horror… to bring back the joy for them when they have faim".

Jah Youth turned in some studios under the name of Derajah, first name which his/her father rasta gave him. It east Clouded Smith who gives him this nickname of Jah Yout'. It currently prepares new pieces and collaborations with Christopher Meredith (which were bass player for Ziggy Marley and Burning Spear in particular), Mussa and Close-cropped Kelly, two accomplices with whom it created the label Family Tree Music, a compilation with The Congos, and finally a featuring with Big Youth.
