Department store
A department store is a store having a large surface of sale ( 2 500 with 92 000 m2 ), generally laid out on several stages, established in center town, and proposing with the sale a vast set of goods exposed in specialized rays. These are sales outlets multispecialists, of which the set is full, broad and deep .
History
The department stores appeared at the 19th century.
In France, the first of the kind was with Paris Bon Marché, founded in 1852 by Aristide Boucicaut, which will inspire with Emile Zola his novel With the Happiness of the Ladies .
Then the Grands Stores will come from Louvre, by Alfred Chauchard in 1855, With the Beautiful Flower stand (1856), the Grands stores of Spring, by Jules Jaluzot (1865), Samaritaine, by Ernest Cognacq and Louise Jay (1869) and the stores " In Réaumur" , by Jean-Baptiste Gobert-Martin (1897).
