Department of the economic and social matters

The Département of the economic and social matters ( DAES ) is a department of the Secrétariat of the United Nations. The Assistant general secretary with the political matters is Jose Antonio Ocampo, a Colombian diplomat . The role of the DAES is of produret and to analyze data on economic questions, social and environmental to examine problems and to evaluate the options; in the intergouvermentaux bodies, to facilitate the negotiations; and adviser governments.

The Department is composed of several offices and divisions:
