Department of the businesses of disarmament

The Department of the businesses businesses of disarmament ( DDA , English acronym for United Nations Department off Disarmament Affairs), is a department of the Secrétariat of UNO, established in 1998.

The Assistant general secretary with the businesses of disarmament is Nobuaki Tanaka, a diplomat Japanese.

The Department includes/understands five branches:

  • the Branch Secretariat of the Conference of disarmament and Support of the Conference (or Connects of Geneva)
  • the Branch of the Weapons of massive destruction (or WMD Connects)
  • the Branch of the conventional Weapons (VAT)
  • the Branch of regional disarmament (BDR) with its three center regional:
    • the Regional center of the United Nations for Peace and Disarmament in Africa, with Lome (Togo)
    • the Regional center of the United Nations for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and in the Peaceful , with Katmandou (Nepal)
    • the Regional center of the United Nations for Peace, the Disarmament and the Development of the Latin America and the the Caribbean, with Lima (Peru)
  • the Branch Monitoring, Database and Information (MBI).
