Department of Rivetted

The department of Rivetted (in Spanish: be Departamento de Rivas ) is one of the 15 departments Nicaragua. It is wide on: 2155 km ² and have a population of: 166900 hab. (estimate 2005). Its capital is Rivas.

Geography

The department has a maritime frontage, in the west, on the Pacific Ocean, as well as equivalent frontage, in the east, on the Lac of Nicaragua.

It is moreover bordering:

  • in the North-West, of the department of Carazo;
  • in north, of the department of Granada;
  • in the south, of the republic of the Costa Rica.
