Department of Molinos

The department of Molinos is a department of the province of Salta, in the North-West of Argentina. It is in the south-west of the province, between the departments of Los the Andes, of Cachi, of San Carlos and the province of Catamarca. Its surface is of 3.600 km ² and its population was of 5.565 inhabitants in 2001.

Its chief town is the town of Molinos

Lel Río Calchaquí crosses the department of north to the south, and forms superb landscapes there. One cultivates the vine there (the most important vineyards are those of Colomé and Tacuil), of corn, vegetables.
