Department of Matagalpa
The department of Matagalpa (in Spanish: be Departamento de Matagalpa ) is one of the 15 departments Nicaragua. It is wide on: 8523 km ² and have a population of: 484900 hab. (estimate 2005). Its capital is Matagalpa.
Geography
The department is bordering:- in north, of the department of Jinotega and the autonomous region of the Atlántico Norte;
- in the east, of the autonomous region of the Atlántico On;
- in the south, of the departments of Boaco and Managua;
- in the west, of the departments of León and Estelí.
