Department of General Roca (Río Negro)

The department of General Roca is a department located in the province of Río Negro, in Argentine, in a zone known as being the High valley of Río Negro . Its chief town is the town of General Roca.
Its population was of 281.653 inhabitants in 2001 (census), which represented a density of 19,2 habitants/km ². According to the estimates of the INDEC, in 2005 the department counted 349.842 inhabitants.
Its surface is of 14.655 km ².
