Deo Van Tri

Deo Van Tri , in Laotian Kan Oum , (v. 1849 - Laïchau 1908), feudal and Warlike Indochinese.

It succeeds his father as hereditary chief of Muong Lai (in the North of the Vietnam), on the black river. In 1884, Civil servant of the Empire of Annam, it takes share with the Guerre against the France and gives asylum in 1885 to the Régent of Annam and to the young person Empereur Han Nghi, revolted.

In 1888, French enters to Laïchau; DEO Tri Van, under the influence of Auguste Pavia, makes the Paix with them (1890), becomes the guard of all the Chinese Frontière , of the Bassin of the Red Fleuve with that of the Mekong, and is consequently the most faithful support of France in the top Tonkin.

Its third wire, Deo Van Long, succeeds to him.
