Denys Corbet

Denys Corbet , born the May 22nd 1826 with Guernesey and died in 1910, was a Poète and painter Normand.

Corbet, which was described like the Draïn Rimeux (last poet), wrote in Guernesiais. He was teacher with the Forest where he was elected Connétable in 1890.

Influenced by George Métivier, Corbet is especially known for its Poésie S, in particular Touar de Guernesy , account Picaresque of an excursion in the parishes of Guernesey.

As a writer of the French-speaking newspaper, Bailliage , he is also the author of columns of prose guernesiais some under the name of Barnabé or Badlagoule (the chatterer).

As a painter, Denys Corbet is regarded as pertaining to the Na5ive art.
