Denis Huisman
Professor of philosophy, doctor be-letters, Denis Huisman , born in 1929, is the founder of a group of establishments of higher education having for common set of themes the communication. The schools Denis Huisman (EDH) which federate the French school of the press attachés (EFAP), ICART (Arts), a school of management (EMP) and institutes of photography (School of Photography of Paris), of cinema and television (EFAP Image), of press (EFJ). Branches exist with Tokyo, New York, Brussels, Lisbon, Abidjan, Paris, Levallois, Lyon, Lille and Bordeaux. He also wrote handbooks of philosophy which made its celebrity.
A teacher
He makes his secondary studies in Paris where he attended the Montaigne college, the college Claude Bernard and the Lycée Henri IV. Having obtained in the Sorbonne a license philosophy, he becomes professor with the school Alsacienne and with the Collège Holy-Bores. It is also part-time lecturer at the Institute of Art and of Archeology of Paris, Attaché of research to CNRS of 1953 to 1957, Edgar Faure recruits it like operations manager with his cabinet in 1958. He is then in charge of conferences of esthetics at the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure of the Art schools. at the French Institute of London, the University from New York, in Boston, in Hull, UCLA, Stanford… From 1958 to 1979, it is university lecturer with HEC, and scientific director since 1976 at the University of Paris IX (Dauphine). Moreover Denis Huisman was director of collections to the editions Bordas, Sedes, Nathan, Hachette… And its collection of handbooks of philosophy and esthetics is very known and was sold to million specimens. He wrote on the whole about fifty books.
A contractor
In 1961, Denis Huisman founded in Paris the French school of the press attachés (EFAP) which will have multiple branches (in Lyon (1970), Brussels (1984), Abidjan (1986), New York (1987), Lisbon (1989)… Naîtront thereafter many establishments like ICART (Arts), a school of management (EMP) and institutes of photography (School of Photography of Paris), of cinema and television (EFAP Image), of press (EFJ). Branches will be created in Tokyo, New York, Brussels, Lisbon, Abidjan, Paris, Levallois, Lyon, Lille and Bordeaux. Denis Huisman, who was producer for Television, is general secretary of the price Roger Nimier and vice-president of association for the international foundation of the cinema in Cannes and since 1997, corresponding member of the institute. He is also doctor be-letters.
His/her father
Denis Huisman is the son of Georges Huisman, managing director of the Art schools, creator of the Cannes festival in 1939 and chair of the jury of this same festival of 1946 to 1950. Georges Huisman was principal private secretary of a ministry and principal private secretary to the Sénat, then general secretary of the Elysium in 1932. Sought in 1940 by the Gestapo, it has escaped with its continuations in a farm during 18 months. But it was stopped in 1942, and was saved by the writer Roland Dorgelès (who owed him the life since the war of 1914-18).
