- Pierre Merlou was born on February 18th, 1849 there. Doctor, journalist founder of the Burgundian (1898), and politician (radicals). Mayor of Saint-Saver-in-Puisaye (Yonne, 1885-1900), general adviser of the canton of Saint-Saver (Yonne, 1880-1904), appointed of Yonne (1889-1906) he is Minister for Finance during 271 days in the cabinet Rouvier (June 17th, 1905 - March 14th, 1906).
