Denar

The Denar (or Денар, MKD according to the standard ISO 4217) is the national currency of the Republic of Macedonia, since 1993. Denar is divided into 100 refusal.

History of Denar

From 1992, coupons, equivalents of the Yugoslav convertible dinar (YUN) were emitted by the state Macedonian. May 5th, 1993, a monetary reform took place and the denar Macedonian (MKD) officially replaced the Yugoslav Dinar in the Republic of Macedonia at the rate of a percent

The denar, strongly related to Deutsche Mark, since 1997, is stable with respect to the Euro since 2000, with for consequence a rate of inflation of about 2.6%.

The tickets of 10,50 and 100 denars are printed by the Bank of the Republic of Macedonia ( НароднабанканаРепубликаМакедонија ), while the tickets of 500,1000 and 5000 dinars are printed by " Thomas of Rue" in the United Kingdom.
