Demomakers
A demomaker is a word of the Computerese which is translated literally into “originator of Démonstration S and other productions of the Scène demonstration”.
It is for the majority of the students; enough young people (between 15 and 30 years) and impassioned data processing. It can spend the days (even of the nights actually) to the coding and the programming of their Demos. They take in general to sign their realization of the Pseudonyme S but can also do it in proper name.
The demomaker can be:
- Musician (zykos)
- Programmer (coder)
- Graphic designer 2D (graphic designer bitmap) or 3D
- Swapper, that which deals with the diffusion of the productions.
The countries most known and most active in the field of the Demomaking are the Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden and Finland), the Denmark, the Germany, the Netherlands, the Spain, the France, the Hungary, the Poland and the Suisse. Eastern European countries (Russia,…) as well as the Greece recently arrived with rather good achievements. On the other hand, the Portugal, the Italy, the Japan, Israel and the the United States remain less active.
As a demonstration is rather long to realize (work even amounts in weeks in month), and as the people working are rather specialized there in specific disciplines (a coder is seldom a good type-setter of music for example), the demomakers are linked within groups (Demogroup S) to which they give a name. A group of the Scène demonstration is like a Firme, it has its name (however seldom deposited) and especially a reputation.
The most known groups of Demomaking are: Future Crew, Impact Studios, Pulsates. They meet between them on channels of data-processing discussion as IRC but also in the true life at the time of Demopartie S as the Assembly which is generally held every year in Finland.
